This week, two notable sunrises have made it into the photographic galleries of the Sanguine Root. The first, earlier this week, and the second, this Friday Morning.

These are rare captures!
A bright sunny mid- January day in Morris Park, high noon and a rich blue winter’s sky. The tall Tulip Poplars sway in the brisk wind, the wings of the Mourning Doves flutter and briefly wail, the dried leaves or the young beeches rattle. Â The breeze is briefly gone and it becomes quiet.
Quiet enough that can be seen the silence of the shadows.
The winter is still young and vibrant! Dramatic lighting abounds with great silhouettes and poetic landscapes.  Here we can read the topography of Morris Park at a glance: the land in the foreground dips down to the south and there is a ridge in the backround, on the other side of  the East branch of Indian Creek. Such is the Piedmont character of this place.
