Mayapples emerging in West Fairmount Park

A freshly emerged Mayapple

Spring Beauty (Claytonia virginica)

After visiting the large patches of Spring beauty, I then went across the river to East Park and visited the trout lilies along the Boxer’s Trail in East Fairmount Park

The last photo is interesting by virtue of the log-cabin effect behind the flower: the dead tree limbs creates a rectangular floor-ceiling-post image out there on the hillside.
The hillside view filled with Spring Beauties is impressive! I zoomed in close to get a cluster view of the blooms, but couldn’t find a portion that was sharply defined. I think it must’ve been windy, today.
You have found a blooming paradise there!
