This day last year

Exactly this day last year Isabelle and I were at the Shenks Ferry wild flower preserve. We admired the the Trilliums and the Bluebells and walked the paths in the beautiful balmy spring afternoon. Today in 2020 could not be more different! So the Sanguine Root blog is being interrupted. However this is a time to rise to the occasion and to deal with the situation using all of our assessments and knowledge from the past 10 years of writings and observations. Observing nature carefully has been very beneficial to our understanding of the current situation. Much of our focus has been with spring wildflowers and our blog posts have reflected this. We also do meditations of the fall and the various atmospheric qualities of that season. I have noticed that our blog has been much like a spring wildflower. Most of the posts are in the spring time and this is not intentional it is just how it has unfolded over the past decade.

But aside from this observation, let’s get down to business. We are facing a situation that is biological in nature, catastrophic, predictable, and most likely manageable in the larger picture. At this writing, on April 13, 2020, We as Humans, and our global ecosystems are in peril and flux. Loved ones are dying and the public health crisis is unbearable and may continue to worsen. The United States is particularly vulnerable to this crisis for a multitude of reasons. It would be great to explore these reasons but unfortunately it is too late now and we must focus on the immediate dangers we are all facing: strictly speaking, from a biological perspective this virus has been shown to infect others without any symptoms. So a person may have been infected with this virus and have no symptoms and be able to infect others unwittingly. Also it could take up to 14 days to feel symptoms. So that’s it dear readers. Let that sink in. This is what we are dealing with. At this point this may be old news for many of us, but I definitely know know

not for all. So please assume you have the Virus and you feel fine and hopefully will recover, but in the meantime please quarantine yourself. Let us as a society stop the deaths as quickly as possible-it can be done. There is so much more to discuss about this whole situation but first we must stop the spread and the unnecessary deaths.
