CORPSES CANNOT LIE

Today a pickup truck full of corpses showed up at the Philadelphia city morgue. They were pulled out by their feet.

There is a lot that we do not know about this virus, however let us focus on what we are pretty sure is true:

People without any symptoms whatsoever can be carrying and can transmit this virus to others. So that means that anybody that you see could potentially be carrying the virus and could give it to you. There is no way of knowing at this time how you will react to the virus; young or old, sick or healthy.

At this point in time what we don’t know is very important. It would be nice to know alot of things about our current situation such as:

How long will it take before someone who has the virus still be contagious?

How will we personally react to the virus?

How exactly contagious is the virus?

How is the virus really spreading?

How contagious is it through the air? From talking, breathing, walking on the street? Walking through the park? Walking through our apartment building? Walking into an elevator? Walking into a subway car or bus?

There is a lot of talk about the 6 foot rule. You must truly question this! Where is this 6 foot rule coming from? Do you really think that the 6 foot rule is enough? Do you really feel comfortable being just 6 feet from someone who is absolutely contagious? How do you know if the person six from you is contagious or not?

Oh yes, more questions than answers if you really think about it!

We strongly suggest that you seriously think things through, from your trip to the grocery store to just walking down the street on the sidewalk. How safe is each of these activities? A run in the park? A walk in the park? Where do you go that is safe and is not safe? When do you think it will be safe again by looking at the numbers in the maps? This is a time to really look at the raw data that is out there being collected by journalists and news organizations.

Just one year ago we were putting up pictures and talking about the Shenks Ferry Wildflower Preserve. We were admiring the Trilliums and Bluebells. We have been worried about the oil pipeline that they wanted to put through the preserve and of course global warming.

  1. North Philly since October.
Nobody goes to my blog. It’s mostly art–who cares about that?
I get more people reading my posts on FB.

I was happy to see on my daily walk, that more people are wearing masks than not (I counted). Including young men and teens–who have been slow to take this up.

  2. Southbound traffic on North Broad blocked from Norris to Cecil B. Moore, around the Liacouras Center, where they’re preparing it for CV19 patients.
A large bus-sized Emergency Management van, and larger truck trailer of uncertain function parked in front of the center, which is blocked by a chain link fence with black netting.

  3. The numbers we’re getting on confirmed cases and deceased are unreliable. I follow ncov2019.live, PA.Gov and Phila.gov… as well as reports in the news (which are usually a day or more behind.) PA.Gov has kept nursing home stats separate from state and county numbers. Testing has been SNAFU from the start, so no one has the info needed know how and where this is progressing. From the number of people I see out on the street (North Philly)… we’re in for a difficult few weeks come May.

    1. Jacob, I totally hear you we are in the dark as to what is actually happening! I suggest that you retool your blog. and report what you see and hear on the ground from where you live. Are you in South Philly? Or are you in North Philly? Just report what you see and where you are- put it out there into the public domain. That is what we are doing- we have retooled our blog and we are putting into the public domain what we know and do not know. Usually at this time we are talking about Trilliums and mayapples. However we are now just dealing with the crisis in front of us.

  4. Inq limits if not subscribed. I’m pretty obsessive about reports of numbers .. .wondering now why Phila.gov hasn’t updated today.

    Jusqu’ ici tout va bien…

    1. Hey Jacob we hope you are doing well. It was in the paper this morning. The Philadelphia Inquirer. I added the link at the end of the post for you! Please stay safe and think through all of your decisions outside of your apartment! This virus is extremely contagious and we know very little about it! Be patient and soon we will know more and more so we can make informed decisions! I am glad that you are still reading our blog!
