Having spent many days here building sandcastles, swimming and enjoying the surf, it was great to look down and see the whole place! A barrier island, like one from Sandy hook New Jersey to all the way down here in Sunny Florida, the East coast of the U.S. is framed by them.
Once out on the Barrier Island we can hear the ocean roar!
A few miles above Wildwood New Jersey we are viewing the Delaware Bay and the sunset over the state of Delaware. To the left side of the picture is the route of the Cape May -Lewes ferry and you can actually see the two points of departure.
That river looks like it would be really fun to see on a canoe!
Six miles below us is one of the northernmost Bald Cypress forests. We were most appreciative to see such a large portion of the Chesapeake Bay at once with such a dramatic sunset!
